On December 21, 2021, after more than a year of preparation, Co-opBank and STEP project held the kick-off ceremony for the e-Banking project.

Mr. Brian Allemekinders – Development Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy to Vietnam, representatives of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), representatives of CBV’s Board of Directors and other concerned departments witnessed the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Chairman of the CBV BOD confirmed that e-Banking is one of the key enhancements to modernize the CBV’s IT system. e-Banking is a prerequisite for CBV and PCFs to meet the increasing demand, as well as enhance the retail financial services in agriculture, rural and remote area. The system will also consolidate the joint network between CBV and the PCFs.

Mr. Allemekinders expressed his appreciation for the strong commitment and efforts of the concerned parties, hoping that the system will soon be completed to extend more well designed and effective financial services at reasonable costs to the rural disadvantaged people who has been severely affected by Covid – 19 pandemics during the last two years.

e-Banking project focuses on integrating CBV’s Core-banking, mobile/internet Banking, card etc. to structure a robust, integrated processing platform. It will handle more secure and efficient payment and money transfer transactions between CBV and PCFs with external partners such as NAPAS, CITAD.

TechPlus Solution Co., Ltd. is selected as the contractor. The project is to be completed after 12 months.
