On August 11th and 12th, STEP project continued its workshop series on client care protocol toolkit and cashflow-based lending for loan officers. The staff of the PCFs from Can Tho, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces participated, as well as representatives from Co-opBank’s and State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) province branches. STEP introduced tools that support loan officers in providing financial and business knowledge to their clienteles, tools to analyze loan applications based on members’ cashflows, as well as key message to approach better women clients. According to the satisfaction survey at the end of the training, 78% of participants said that they are ready to use STEP’s tools at their PCFs.

One participant, the Head of Credit Department of Phu Loc PCF said that he really liked the loan appraisal form. He will use these tools to reach new members, raise up the loan portfolio, and reduce over-due balance. He hopes that STEP can soon distribute these tools to all PCFs to help providing more the cashflow-based loans to women clients.

In the coming months, besides organizing such workshops, STEP will also provide on-site coaching for PCFs who have higher demands in in-depth supports to ensure that their loan officers can use these tools in practice with their clients in the most convenient and efficient way.
